Caregivers Circle Project

One hundred twenty caregivers, mostly women, low income, of color, gathered in small groups, each group meeting three times over spring and summer 2013. At each mtg. a single question was asked, to which participants responded graphically. A three-part art installation was created for the culminating Caregivers Summit to display the ephemeral artifacts of the facts of participant lives as they expressed them.

In my experience as a caregiver:

  • my work does NOT seem valued by people I know, OR by society.
  • I feel my work IS valued by some people I know, but NOT by society.
  • I feel my work is NOT valued by people I know, but IS valued by society.
  • I feel my work IS valued by people I know, and IS ALSO valued by society.

What are one or two of my biggest CHALLENGES or UNMET NEEDS as a caregiver?

What is one VALUE that motivates and is expressed in my caregiving?
